WASDC Rules
The WASDC award certificate will be issued to any licensed amateur radio operator who submits a WASDC application form listing confirmed, two-way QSO’s with all of South Dakota’s 66 counties. The WASDC application form must be signed by the applicant and include suitable QSL verification.
- Contacts may be made on any amateur radio band or mode (repeater contacts and VoIP modes are not allowed, however satellite and moon bounce contacts are acceptable).
- All contacts must be made after December 31, 2008, 000 UTC.
- All contacts must be made from the same county, parish, district, or location.
- A confirmed contact must be made for each of South Dakota’s 66 counties.
- Contact with portable and mobile stations may be claimed. Stations on county lines can count for both counties, provided the confirmation from the worked station confirms the county line operation.
- No more than 10 counties can be counted from a single worked station / call sign.
- Single band or single mode (except phone modes) applications are accepted and the WASDC award will be suitably endorsed.
- The WASDC application must show the call sign, county, date, time, mode, band, and frequency of each worked contact arranged in alphabetical order by county.
- Suitable verification of contact can be made by any of the following:
- Submission of all QSL cards showing confirmed contact with each of South Dakota’s 66 counties. Please include a self-addressed stamped (with adequate postage) envelope for return of your QSL cards, or
- Photocopies of all QSL cards (front and back) showing confirmed contact with each of South Dakota’s 66 counties, or
- Signed confirmation from 2 General, Advanced, or Extra class hams certifying the examination of your QSL cards. The sponsoring organization reserves the right to request further confirmation of any contacts.
- QSL cards must clearly show the South Dakota county (QTH county) of the contact during the QSO.
- Send $5.00 US to cover the cost of the certificate, processing, and postage. For DX applicants (outside the U.S.), enclose $7.00 US or 10 IRCs.
- The sponsoring organization, The Sioux Empire Amateur Radio Club, reserves the right to modify any part of this program or to discontinue it at any time. All decisions of the sponsoring organization are final.
