SEARC is a diverse group of amateur radio operators (Hams) that are interested in learning, collaborating and promoting the hobby, sport and service of amateur radio in the Sioux Falls, South Dakota metropolitan area and southeast South Dakota. SEARC is an ARRL affiliated club.

SEARC Technical Updates!We will hold our first 220 Mhz. repeater net on Thursday July 30th, 2026 at 6 p.m. CDT. We will be using our W0FSD repeater located at 223.86 MHz, -1.6 MHz offset and a PL of 146.2. Join us! The Saturday Morning Trader's Net will be hosted on the 146.895 W0ZWY repeater until further notice. Finally, due to water tower maintenance the W0ZWY 444.200 repeater will be off-line until further notice. Work is expected to take 2-3 months. As always, check out website for the status of all of our repeaters and Nets!

Sioux Falls Hamfest is tomorrow.Saturday, July 25, 8:00 AM to noon, Westminster Presbyterian Church on the east side of Sioux Falls, just off 26th Street. Free admission, free parking, and an accessible entrance.Grab coffee, swap gear, and catch two forums: an ARRL Update at 9:00 and Parks On The Air at 10:00. VE testing starts at 10:00 (register at 9:30, $15 exam fee). Door prizes go out every 30 minutes starting at 9:00, and the noon grand prize drawing includes a RigExpert Stick 230. You have to be there to win door prizes, but grand prize winners who can't stay can get theirs shipped.Bring a friend who's never touched a radio. Licensed or not, everyone's welcome.Questions? SEARC at ARRL Field Day — This Weekend, June 27-28This weekend, SEARC is participating in ARRL Field Day, the biggest amateur radio event of the year. We'll be set up at the Minnehaha County Emergency Management Building (608 N. Sigler Ave, Sioux Falls) starting Saturday, June 27 at 1:00 PM and running straight through until Sunday, June 28 at 1:00 PM. That's 24 hours of continuous operating. Field Day is when clubs across North America set up temporary stations, often outdoors on backup power, and spend 24 hours making as many contacts as possible....
