Welcome to the Sioux Empire Amateur Radio Club (SEARC) website.  SEARC is a diverse group of amateur radio operators (Hams) that are interested in learning, collaborating and promoting the hobby, sport and service of amateur radio in the Sioux Falls, South Dakota metropolitan area and southeast South Dakota.  SEARC is an ARRL affiliated club.

We hope you find this website to be a valuable tool and resource for members and non-members alike.  Please provide your feedback, comments and suggestions.  You may also follow our activities on QRZ.com or Like us on Facebook.  Both Hams and non-Hams are encouraged to participate in our club, nets and club activities. Today, Saturday, April 20th, is the Support your Parks POTA Special Event. The Club will be at the Big Sioux Recreation Area in Brandon to participate. Setup starts at 9am as we check in to the Saturday morning Trader Swap Net on the 444.200 repeater.This is an excellent opportunity to get on the air, ask questions, see portable stations, and network with fellow operators. A grill will be available for use, but you will need to bring your own food. The ARRL Board of Directors recently met and approved some fantastic updates. The ARRL board authorized a new, free ARRL membership for full-time students aged 21 and younger! This means students can now join the ARRL no cost and keep learning about amateur radio. SEARC will be hosting a Winter Field Day event next weekend (January 27th) at Lake Vermillion State Park. Cabin 2 along the lake will be where we will setup! Since this is a state park, a State Park sticker is required on all vehicles. Can't make it out?
