Secretary's minutes from March read and accepted with one revision. Treasurer's report read and accepted. Volunteers arranged for set-up at the Pavillion for the Community Science Celebration Friday afternoon, April 4th. John, KC0TQL and Don, KC0VDF volunteer to pick up equipment from the emergency management building. Operation will be Saturday, April 5 from noon until 2:30. VE testing will be Tuesday, April 8 7:00 PM at the emergency management building. Walk MS is Saturday, April 12. We will set up the inflatable tent at the Stewart Center. Volunteers should be at the Stewart Center by 9:00 AM. We will be installing Power Poles at the ARES meeting Tuesday, April 22 at the emergency management building. Anyone wishing to have Power Poles installed on your equipment should bring thier cables to the meeting. "Zip cable" will be available for purchase. Power Poles will be $1.00 per set. There will be a fifth Tuesday Social gathering Tuesday, April 29 at Old Chicago. The 3900 Club Convention will be Friday and Saturday, May 2 &3 at the Marina Inn in South Sioux City Nebraska. The first Fox Hunt of the season will be Tuesday, May 20 7:00 PM. Field Day will be Saturday and Sunday, June 28 & 29. Field Day will be held at the Fairgrounds again this year. We have reserved the midway, but can use the Front Porch again if it is not in use by another party. We are considering CW, SSB, Digital and possibly slow scan TV. Participation in the GOTA station was limited last year, so it may not be run this year. A number of usual participants will be out of town this year, so operators are needed. We are also discussion a wind or solar powered station this year. There are additional points awarded for wind or solar power. Don, KC0VDF will submit our field day station to the ARRL for their Field Day Locator map. April 2 meter net control will be James, KC0USQ. Next meeting will be May 6. Bring your radio to meeting day. Possible topics for the June meeting: Field Day, Logging Software, Field Day Rules. There is a building at the Chicago Ave water tower belonging to the club. This water tower is being torn down. Anyone who wants to remove ithe building can have it. Voted to allow salvage company to remove it. Program tonight is building a tape measure yagi for Fox Hunting. |
