The July meeting was called to order at 7:30 with 12 people present. The secretary wasnt at the meeting yet when the Treasurers report was or wasnt given by another officer since the treasurer was absent. The secretarys report was read and approved. Announcements were given Antenna stands are still on sale for $60. There are still 6 available and proceeds will go to the club. The stands were donated by Tom AB0TV. Finally EC-001 Test Results were that 12 people had past them final exam. Congradulations were extended to those who took the class. Museum Ships on The Air was a success with over 200 contacts made. QSL cards will be mailed out. There was much discussion and feedback given on this years Field Day. Such as having it at the same location next year if possible. All feedback was positive even with the bad weather. People want to check into different extension cords and reels. Tech. Committee reported that they fixed the wheel on the tower trailer and put on a new hitch and lights. They also did some repairs to the antenna. Brian painted the inside of the Communications Trailer Brian talked about the State Drill August 14 for ARES members. Also that the Weather Service will page if our services are needed an email will go out to the ARES members. Requested that we operate from home but if out and about forward any weather related information and it will get passed on to the National Weather Service. Brian ave a brief summary of the SEARC Board Meeting from June 2010. Topics discussed included inproper use of the repeater. Ham Operator that was a sex offender incarserated. Letter sent to the DARN. Tighter security at this years Bike MS so this kind of thing doesnt happen again. Te Committee MOU was drawn up and the cub got a chance to read it and approve it. The club would like to sell the old generator and purchase another new Honda generator. Bike MS Route Preparations have been made and the route designed. It will be tested in the near future. August Program will be Preparations for the Bike MS There will be a 5th Tuesday in August social at Old Chicago right after the net. No one volunteered to be Net Control for August, so guess the first one on the net will run it for that week. Meeting adjourned early to discuss the upcoming tailgate. Also 146.55 Will be used at the tailgate. |
